JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — With a move targeted this summer, the Atlantic Sun is moving its headquarters to Jacksonville on the day it was announced a deal for the Jaguars new stadium willA-Sun Commissioner Jeff Bacon said the A-Sun, which counts UNF and JU as members, will become the first and only Division One conference headquartered in Florida. He called the city a destination market and it provided the conference a unique opportunity. They are planning to move near the 295 Beltway.
Council President Ron Salem said A-Sun's move is"historic." The conference is currently based in Atlanta. He pledged for the conference to factor into the city's economic development. He said the conference can reach 20 million households through its Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando and Louisville markets across its 23 sports.
