A bizarre drone video shows waves of Bull Redfish flooding Brazos River near Bryan Beach.

This drone video was taken on August 9 near the mouth of the Brazos River . In it, you can see the schools of a species of fish identified as the “bull redfish” by Darrell Schoppe, who shot the video.

“I’ve lived on the coast my entire life and have seen the schools of Bull Reds several times over the years, but this was the first I’ve been able to capture footage with a drone,” Schoppe said. “There’s nothing that makes me happier than to share what I’m blessed to witness for everyone to see,” he added.

Texas Parks & Wildlife say the bull redfish, also known as the “red drum,” “rat red” or just “red,” can be identified by the red drum is one large black spot on the upper part of the tail base. They usually prefer shallow waters up to four feet near sea vegetation. For those anglers looking to nail a decent-sized fish, the bull red is a fast-growing fish, reaching approximately 11 inches and one pound in its first year but becoming over eight times its weight in three years.
