Two firefighters suffered burns fighting a wildfire east of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Site 300 that ballooned to nearly 5,000 acres on Saturday, according to the Alameda County Fire Department and Cal Fire.
A wind-whipped wildfire near Tracy jumped to nearly 5,000 acres, injuring two firefighters and closing part of Interstate Highway 580 on Saturday.
The fire closed eastbound Interstate 580 at Interstate Highway 205, the California Highway Patrol said.
