Topps announced Tuesday that an 11-year-old from Los Angeles had pulled a one-of-one, autographed rookie card for Pittsburgh Pirates sensation Paul Skenes from a 2024 Topps Chrome Update pack. This rare card includes the debut patch from Skenes' game-worn jersey. Skenes, the first overall selection in the 2023 MLB Draft, took the league by storm in his debut season last year. He went 11-3 with a 1.96 ERA and struck out 170 batters en route to winning NL Rookie of the Year.
He also started the All-Star Game for the National League and finished third in Cy Young voting.
