Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a shooting on Timbertop Lane in the Fosters community. A deputy who is also a licensed paramedic was first on the scene and tried unsuccessfully to save the victim.The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit worked throughout the day investigating the case. On Tuesday night, authorities announced a murder charge against 20-year-old Tywann Long.Capt. Jack Kenned said the motive is still under investigation but said the sale and/or possession of illegal drugs appears to be a factor.
