Zakir yang mengemukakan surut tuntutan kepada Kulasegaran melalui peguamnya Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah dan Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kadir turut menuntut Kulasegaran supaya berhenti mengeluarkan sebarang kenyataan berhubungnya.
Surat tuntutan itu menyatakan bahawa Kulasegaran ada mengeluarkan kenyataan media bertajuk “Zakir Naik Presence In Malaysia is Embarassing to all Malaysian’ pada 13 Ogos lalu. Beliau mendakwa kenyataan itu disiarkan di dalam beberapa penerbitan media dan portal berita termasuk Malaysiakini pada tarikh yang sama dengan tajuk “Running down M’sians: Kula to bring up Zakir in cabinet”.
“Kenyataan itu mendakwa anak guam kami antara lain mahu membentuk jurang antara kaum dan agama di Malaysia bagi mendapatkan sokongan komuniti Muslim di Malaysia serta membolehkan beliau tinggal di Malaysia.
