KUALA LUMPUR: Police today confirmed that the chief organiser of the Malay Dignity Congress early this month will be summoned for questioning this Friday, believed to be over his controversial speech on the non-Malays.
Criminal Investigation Department chief Huzir Mohamed said Zainal Kling, whose speech among others questioned the citizenship of non-Malays, will be investigated based on a police report lodged by an aide to P Ramasamy, the Penang deputy chief minister. “We will summon the Congress organiser to have his statement recorded,” Huzir told reporters today at the Bukit Aman police headquarters.
He said the case will be investigated under the Penal Code’s Section 504 for intentional insult, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for use of network facilities to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass others. In his speech at the Congress, Zainal said the non-Malays were bound by a social contract with Malays, and warned them that their citizenship could be suspended if they break the agreement. He also said that Malaysia belongs to Malays.
