Zahid: Umno is a party that will do what it says

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi insisted that Umno will stand their ground based on the decision made by the Supreme Council on Wednesday after several parties including their own MPs argued against it.

Zahid added that the July 7 meeting was done to set further action to be taken based on seven main considerations after the Agong had twice ordered parliament to reconvene on June 16 and June 29. The supreme council meeting and Ahmad Zahid’s statement came on the heels of Muhyiddin’s surprise promotion of two Umno lawmakers, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, as deputy prime minister and senior minister respectively.
