KUALA LUMPUR: The Barisan Nasional candidate contesting in the Tanjung Piai by-election will be announced after negotiations between component parties and studies on the matter is completed.

KUALA LUMPUR:The Barisan Nasional candidate contesting in the Tanjung Piai by-election will be announced after negotiations between component parties and studies on the matter is completed.Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) said that he had held a discussion with MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong on the candidate, but the matter is still being studied.

"For Tanjung Piai, we will contest. The discussions and studies are being done and we will only make the announcement of the candidate that will represent Barisan Nasional after all studies and negotiations are completed."I have conducted a discussion with MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and will announce the candidate in the nearest time," he said after chairing the Umno supreme council meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here on Thursday (Oct 3).
