I am fuming that the government can think about selling properties to rich Chinese or Hong Kong buyers when there are those of us who have made Malaysia our home. At least, Zuraida has reversed her comments and “clarified” them. Agreed. Don't politicise every issue, especially those which help or alleviate the problems faced by the country.Are Zuraida and her ministry pro-rakyat or pro-developers? It's best left to the developers to solve their problem of unsold high-end properties if they decided to get into that field in the first place.
Building affordable home should not be based on a profit motive. That's why building affordable homes shouldn’t be done by private developers. This is the government's responsibility.The government promotion will only encourage greedy developers to build more high-end properties. Is this why Penang wants to create more land to build more high-end properties?

many of those who could not afford to buy houses put themselves in that position becos they did not plan their lives properly. even with very low incomes, they keep having children which they could not afford.

those people complaining about high property prices should find second-hand ones. there are lots of them around for sale at very low prices. but they want brand new hses in prime locations. not everyone complained about high property prices especially owners.
If rich developer make money, they pay tax. Whereas poor people don't pay any tax.
those houses would have been sold by now if there are local buyers. offering them to international buyers will bring in money from overseas. this is nothing new in other countries as well. btw, many homes in msia are already owned by foreigners.
It is spin off that the gov is looking for. Not helping the developers. What good does it do to country when companies are winding up? Think of the bigger picture not just a rich developer.
