YONG PENG: A new vaccination centre (PPV) will be opening near the popular Prosperity Dragon tourist attraction here on July 18, saving the town's residents the hassle of travelling to other towns for their Covid-19 jabs.

Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, who is also Transport Minister, said the PPV would be set up at the multi-purpose hall within the Che Ann Khor Moral Uplifting Society here.

Dr Wee said the PPV would be able to administer 500 doses a day once it starts operating, before gradually increasing to 2, 000 daily doses from 8am to 5pm. “After a few rounds of discussions and site visits from the District Office, Health Department, Yong Peng District Council and other agencies, the plan was up and running.

What does the tourist attraction have to do with anything? A PPV will be set up and that's it.
