IPOH: A 53-year-old woman was killed when a fragment from a statue fell on her head at the Arulmigu Visaiatchi Sametha Viswanathar Sivalayam Paripalana Sabah Temple in Buntong.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the woman was pronounced dead while seeking treatment at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital following the incident at about 9.50am on Sunday ."Two other female devotees also suffered light injuries," he said in a statement.

"We have classified this case as sudden death. Those who witnessed the incident should come forward to the police or call investigating officer Asst Supt Mohd Hassbullah Hasan at 013-555 5585 to assist investigations," he said.
