Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the four in a family, who had been in close contact with the first patient in Singapore, were discharged following two negative test results.

She said cumulative cases remained at 19, with nine comprising patients under investigation , eight from close contact cases and two Malaysians who returned from the humanitarian mission in Wuhan, China, the focal point of the infection. Dr Wan Azizah said so far, 239 close contacts have been identified and placed under quarantine, of which 181 are Malaysians, 46 Chinese nationals, and 12 from other countries.

"Samples have been taken and they are now under observation. More close contacts are expected to be identified. "We urge those who had been in close contact to come forward for checks," she said in a press conference, here, today.It was reported that the four discharged comprised a 65-year-old woman, her 36-year-old daughter-in-law and grandsons aged 11 and two.Related stories
