WASHINGTON, Jan 6 ― Walmart Inc workers in the United States who must isolate or who have tested positive for Covid-19 will receive one week of paid leave instead of two under a new policy that aligns with a change in US health guidance.

The retailer, the largest private employer in the United States with about 1.6 million workers, is among the first major retailers to reduce paid leave for Covid-19, and could serve as a bellwether for other major employers. The spokesperson added that Walmart was asking corporate employees to work primarily from home until January 30, rather than January 10 previously announced.
