The Vivo X70 and X70 Pro feature the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor, Zeiss optics and T* coating and are now available for pre-order in Malaysia.

It may only have been half a year since the Vivo X60 and X60 Pro launched, but that hasn’t stopped Vivo from making its predecessor official in Malaysia. The Vivo X70 and X70 Pro have just been launched on our shores, and continue the Vivo-Zeiss partnership that first appeared with the X60 series.

Overall, the Vivo X70 and X70 Pro are pretty similar in specifications. Both devices feature the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 system-on-chip underneath, with the X70 getting 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, while the X70 Pro gets 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. They both run on the FuntouchOS 12 UI based on Android 11.

As for the display, both the X70 and X70 Pro have 6.56-inch, FHD+ AMOLED displays capable of pushing a 120Hz refresh rate. However, while the X70 Pro has a curved glass display, the X70 has just the usual flat screen display. These displays are also rated for a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The X70 Pro also has another minor upgrade in that its display is made with E5 AMOLED panel.

The minor differences between the two continue in the camera department. Both use a 32MP selfie camera on the front of the device, while on the rear the X70 has a 40MP main shooter flanked by a 12MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide lens. The X70 Pro meanwhile bumps up the main camera to a 50MP shooter with OIS, and is supported by the same two 12MP lens as well as an additional 8MP periscope telephoto camera.

Other features include 44W fast charging via USB-C, an under-display optical fingerprint scanner, support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The X70 has a 4,400mAh battery while the X70 Pro has a slightly bigger 4,450mAh capacity. Unfortunately there’s neither a 3.5mm audio jack here nor wireless charging support. Both smartphones come in either Cosmic Black or Aurora Dawn.respectively.
