Veterinary Dept vaccinates 140,000 dogs against rabies | The Malaysian Insight

THE Veterinary Department has vaccinated more than 140,000 of the 205,000 dogs in Sarawak, which have been checked since 2017 to curtail the spread of rabies, said Veterinary Services director-general Dr Quaza Nizamuddin Hassan Nizam. He said to date, Sarawak had 21 fatalities, the highest number in the country, from rabies and studies have shown that in 95% of those were through contact with infected dogs.
