Rang Undang-Undang Perlembagaan 2019 itu memperoleh masing-masing sokongan 211 daripada 222 ahli Parlimen selepas dua kali undi belah bahagi dilakukan, iaitu lebih dua pertiga persetujuan ahli Dewan Rakyat.
Yang Dipertua Dewan Rakyat Datuk Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof ketika mengumumkan perkara itu berkata, tiada ahli Parlimen yang tidak bersetuju dan tidak mengundi. “Tahniah, Yang Amat Berhormat Perdana Menteri dan tahniah kepada semua ahli Dewan kerana melakar sejarah hari ini iaitu tepat setahun Parlimen ini bersidang,” katanya.
Sebelum itu, pindaan itu dibahaskan lebih 60 ahli Parlimen kira-kira enam jam selepas Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad membentangkannya untuk bacaan kali kedua pada 12 tengah hari ini.
