SEREMBAN: A health emergency would have been more appropriate to control the Covid-19 outbreak, says Datuk Seri Mohamad HasanThe Umno deputy president said that although the party acknowledged the fact that the state of Emergency declared on Tuesday was to control the outbreak, the Government should have declared a health emergency and specific ordinances to effectively fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

"To paralyse the Constitution, be it partially or fully, would never help our recovery from the pandemic," he said Sunday ."Umno is fully supportive of the Government’s effort in combating the outbreak, a stance that we would never compromise. The Rantau assemblyman said it was only through reinforcement of the healthcare strategy that the pandemic could be better controlled.

Malaysia, he said, was a successful democracy and the best example of a democratic country among all Muslim nations.

Indeed Tok Mat!

I dont agree with Tok Mat Hassan ... If only health emergency, the current regime cannot hold the power. Only state emergency can deny democracy and people needs; It is not good enough for them to cling their back door power.

At least he has more brains then the rest.

Only now its sinking in for you, its the PM chair he cares about? Better late then never, get umnoonline to act on MuhyiddinYassin PPBMofficial 'To paralyse the Constitution, be it partially or fully, would never help our recovery from the pandemic' - tokmatn9
