Its president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the party fully supports the move though no official discussion has been held to request for the tabling of the White Paper at any level between Pas and Umno.
“If the government agrees then it is something that would help to clarify to the public especially those who are sympathetic towards the existence of LTTE. Earlier, Pas secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan demanded for the tabling of the White Paper in Parliament as the matter was now of “public interest”.On Oct 10 and 12, 12 individuals including two assemblymen were arrested over alleged involvement with the LTTE including supporting and channelling funds to the group.
Meanwhile, Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy said the 12 individuals linked to the terrorist group should be brought into open court and to abolish the Security Offences Act 2012 .
