Youngster Ng Tze Yong continues to show that he has plenty in his tank as he marched into the men’s singles final in the Belgian International in Leuven on Friday after defeating Japan’s Yusuke Onodera 20-22, 21-15, 23-21.
The 21-year-old battled for 78 minutes in the semi-finals to earn the right to play against 34-year-old Ajay Jayaram of India.Tze Yong, who showed plenty of promise in his Thomas Cup Finals debut in Aarhus two weeks ago, is hoping to go one step further in Belgium after finishing second at last week’s Czech Open.
Meanwhile, back-up shuttlers Man Wei Chong-Tee Wei Kun lost 10-21, 8-21 to Indonesians Shohibul Fikri-Bagas Maulana in just 22 minutes in the men’s doubles semi-finals on Friday.
