KOTA KINABALU: Two Indonesians tried to stop the police from entering a room in a workers' quarters in Lahad Datu, but were overpowered and detained during a drug raid Monday (March 9).

The raid was conducted as part of Ops Sarang by a team of six policemen from the district narcotics crimes investigation division on the quarters located on Ladang Long Manis, Jalan Lahad Datu-Tungku at 6.45am."When they identified themselves as policemen, one of the suspects acted aggressively and shut the room door, causing injury to the finger of a policeman.

"They put up a fight but the team managed to detain both suspects," said Lahad Datu OCPD Asst Comm Nasri Mansor in a statement on Tuesday .The suspects, aged 44 and 52, did not possess identification documents and also tested positive for drugs. "The suspects and the seized drugs were brought to the Lahad Datu police station for further action," ACP Nasri said.
