KUALA LUMPUR: It is too premature to tell if the decision to float the price of RON95 following the targeted fuel subsidy scheme would cause any inflation, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

"It is too early to predict. Let's focus on our commitment to implement what we promise in our election manifesto.

Asked why Sabah and Sarawak were not included in the scheme, he explained that the consumption of RON95 petrol was relatively lower compared to Peninsular Malaysia. The government announced on Sunday that the price of RON95 will float according to the market once the targeted fuel subsidy scheme kicks off in January next year.

It is not a matter of early or late. Increase in a major and unavoidable element in production chain for most of the products or services will lead inflation. This do not need time to justify. Minister should have known from yesterday.

Good move to remove the subsidies as we can't rely on fossil fuel for long , but let the savings be used for free education and at the same time look at renewable energy and be kind to mother earth so that our children will inherit a beautiful planet

Yea.. this is because doing research before implementing something is never a Malaysian gomen thing.
