PETALING JAYA: Malaysia will most likely be represented by two shuttlers when para badminton makes its debut at the Tokyo Paralympics from Aug 24-Sept 5.

As it stands, six-time world champion Cheah Liek Hou will qualify for the SU5 men’s singles category while Didin Taresoh is set to make the cut in the SS6 men’s singles .

The 33-year-old Liek Hou is ranked second while Didin is fifth. The final qualifier in Cartagena is unlikely to affect their current standings although the duo will still compete as part of their preparations for the Games.“But the event in Spain is still important to me. I want to do well there to collect more points to improve on my world ranking.
