JOHOR BARU: Police will issue a compound to those caught attempting to cross the Johor border without permit, warns state police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.

“We will no longer allow them to turn back without issuing a compound as we have given ample reminders to the public,” he said.

There were 129 compounds issued to individuals who defied the conditional movement control order on the first day of Hari Raya in the state.“Roadblocks are still being conducted at 34 locations in the state, including 20 near the state’s border,” Comm Ayob said at a press conference yesterday. Following a tip-off, police conducted a raid on Teluk Sengat in Kota Tinggi where they seized 47.615kg of syabu worth RM1.9mil.
