DURING the 55th anniversary dinner of the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Car Dealers and Credit Companies Association on Jan 13, Transport Minister Anthony Loke disclosed that road tax acquisition will be digitalised to replace the current practice of displaying stickers on windscreens .
In one fell swoop, many problems associated with physical road tax stickers that are easily damaged will be relegated to history. Digitalisation should also be extended to commercial vehicle permits that are printed on paper and kept in rental cars, taxis, buses, lorries, etc.
Weight x power
weight ferrari and proton exora almost same.. bodohla cadangan ni
In a way, makes sense because heavier vehicles tend to do more damage to the roads. But how about overloaded vehicles? Hardly any control. Not just more damaging to the roads/tarmac but dangerous too.... when accident, 'brake tak makan' all the time. Of course lah, overloaded!
Should be by weight and mileage.
This one lagi no common sense
Common sense in Msia is determined by who gets the most bribes keklol
Why complicated things? Calculate based on the market value of the car. Lower insurance & road tax over time. Hence, more money for wear & tear, repairs etc. JPJ already making fortune by selling plate numbers.
Tax usage/consumption, not ownership e.g. UK. But JPJ will stand to lose out in favour of Kastam Diraja
Lambo Aventador, with a V12 6.5L engine...cost almost 2-3 Million Ringgit is only 1,570kg . How?
Keep it simple. Either remove all road tax or make it flat RM300 all vehicles.
According to cc/liter is fine… if turbo x2… if rotary x3… electric every 10kwh equivalent to 1.0 liter… so mx30 with 30kwh is 3.0 liter… x3 with 50kwh is 5.0 liter…
Taxing road tax by vehicle weight is not an ideal suggestion. This means Lotus Emira users (expensive foreign brand car) can enjoy road tax price the same as Proton Exora (local car).
EXACTLY!!!!!!!
anthonyloke This was my tweet back in 2019. Now that you are back in position again. Try not to overlook it again
Kenapa tak ikut harga kereta. Yang mampu beli mahal, boleh la bayar cukai lebih.
