Tamil Tigers no different from Islamic State, say police

Police today launch a special operation to nab supporters of Sri Lankan group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, after years of surveillance. – Police handout pic, October 10, 2019.

POLICE today warned against using racial issues as a basis to promote the Tamil Eelam Liberation Army movement. Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter-terrorism Division principal assistant director Ayub Khan Mydin Pitchay said the LTTE was no different from terrorist groups such as Islamic State.
