Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan will take over as the party’s elections director from Tajuddin Abdul Rahman with immediate effect.
In a statement, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the appointment of his deputy, who is the Barisan Nasional war room chief, is aimed at strengthening the organisation of the party’s election machinery at every level.
