PETALING JAYA: The jinx has finally been broken!

Malaysia's world No. 9 Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik pulled off an incredible show to stun their nemeses Kevin Sanjaya-Marcus Fenaldi of Indonesia for the first time in their eighth attempt with a convincing 21-14, 21-17 on Thursday to march into the men's doubles semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics.

And what a perfect stage for the Olympics debutants to pull off their biggest career win. They are now just two steps away from winning the country's elusive Olympics gold."I don't think I've ever felt this happy," said Wooi Yik "I think the reason we were so fired up today and won this match today was because we know that all the Malaysians were behind us. We just wanted to fight for them."

They will take on the winners of the match between China's Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen and Denmark's Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen next.
