Berdasarkan kajian awal yang dilakukan oleh Pusat Perubatan Sheba, suntikan vaksin dos keempat meningkatkan sedikit antibodi, namun masih belum mencukupi memberikan perlindungan penuh daripada jangkitan Omicron. Pengarah Unit Penyakit Berjangkit Israel, Gili Regev-Yochay berkata, kajian itu secara tidak langsung menunjukkan antibodi yang amat tinggi diperlukan untuk mencegah jangkitan dan vaksin sedia ada belum mencapai tahap itu, biarpun diberi dalam sejumlah dos.
Kajian itu disifatkan yang pertama dilakukan, selain belum diterbitkan dalam mana-mana jurnal perubatan. Israel menjadi antara wilayah paling cepat memberikan suntikan dos keempat kepada penduduknya sebagai usaha memerangi penularan Covid-19. – REUTERS
