Sultan Nazrin calls on scholars, leaders to wage jihad against corruption

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 — The Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Nazrin Shah said that Muslim scholars and leaders must pool their energy and work together in the fight against corruption.

The ruler said so many incidences of corruption have been reported recently, adding that based on the news reports, corruption is not only widespread but also happening on a large scale. He said the people long for a fair and just leadership that bravely upholds the truth and firmly implements justice based on the law as well as a leadership that does not commit injustice, does not oppress, cheat and is not a hypocrite.

He said, if leaders are constantly aware of their responsibility to God as well as to the ummah and the country, the ummah will prosper, national treasures will be managed transparently, resources to be distributed fairly and national wealth will not be wasted.

Every year, every speech...same message. But what has changed?

Jihad vs pleasures of corrupt money It's proven Malaysian politicians will choose the latter

Religious ppl like this...

All we can do is talk, but in the end the corrupts controls the system

Low wages has a strong correlation to high corruption. Its 2021 now and they are still unwilling to do the basic by raising minimum wage adequately. Not to be sour but our country in reality is beyond salvage.

Is it possible in Malaysia when those in power are the corruptors?

Same group of people administers the country, what can you expect?

Sudah spai masanya smua puak lawan rasuah

Dream on. It’s never going to happen here. They jihad against petty issues.

Susah sekali

mynewshub ismet_ulam korang taknak sahut cabaran sultan nazrin? Tegur sikit kawan2 politik korang tu

On this the usual puritants willbe slow. On arak they froth and gnarl !

Agree

HRH as a wise and capable leader, you know what’s happening in Perak and Malaysia. Please help us rid the country of corrupted politicians and bigoted civil servants. Daulat Tuanku.

....but who will toe the line where money is concern

Corruption has many forms

There are only jilat leaders in Malaysia

Convicted corruptor NajibRazak walks free, travels overseas. There are mini Najibs in government agencies in MOFmalaysia and kkmm_gov, spending rakyat money on dubious foreign tech purchases

Need to investigate every politicians

They only go after Sajat. Corruption till now not a single word.

Don't think it's going to work. Corruption probably start among the untouchable elites themselves.

Very true what said by Sultan. Malaysia is going backwards since 30 years of bad to worst corruption The trusted agency SPRMMalaysia not doing their job. Politicians from all sides are very daring to take. Bcoz they know no law can stop them. PDRMsia AGCPutrajaya jpmgov_

DYMM Sultan Perak pun tahu tapi wakil2 rkyt&mrk yg terbabit dgn rasuah masih berdegil&tak bertaubat langsung!Sampai bila mrk2 ini akan bertaubat&memilih jln yg benar?Msia dah separuh hancur akibat rasuah!Pandora papers pun tak peduli…top 5 most corrupt ctry pun buat tak acuh!🤦

starts from the very top. -up to you to interpret.

You trying to preach to corrupt leaders who swindled RM 1.8 trillions.. You really think they will give back even a cent the money they stole? Hmm...

Good call, DYMM!!

Stop using religion as a clarion call. This impacts all of Malaysia and the corrupt are using Islam as a tool to perpetrate corruption. Enough. All is does is further polarise the country.
