Subject to EMCO, Desa Rajang residents complain of food shortages

Residents of the Desa Rejang say the food they receive during the EMCO is not enough to feed 16,000 people and food parcels are not the same, with some getting food others need. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Kamal Ariffin, June 23, 2021.

SOME 16,000 residents of the Desa Rejang public housing flats in Setapak Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, currently subject to the enhanced movement control order , are facing a shortage of food due to the large number of people staying in 12 blocks. They told The Malaysian Insight supplies of food do meet demand despite help from the Welfare Department and civil society groups.
