According to the list of eligible candidates released at Bersatu’s website, a supposed three-cornered fight for the presidency did not take place as Mohd Faiz Azlee Sham, who was supposed to be in the running for the post, was not on the list.
For the three vice-president posts, a list of 18 names were up, including Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof, Tan Sri Ab Rashid Ab Rahman, Mohd Radzi Md Jidin, Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen, Adhif Syan Abdullah, Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee, Amiruddin Hamzah, Mazlan Bujang, and among others. The Bersatu’s youth chief post will be contested by three - Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, Mohd Muzammil Ismail, and Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, who’s also the newly appointed deputy Youth and Sports Minister.
Previously, Syed Hamid said that the Bersatu polls and its annual general meeting will be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
