Stay away from India protest hotspots, Malaysians told

Activists protesting against India’s new citizenship law in Guwahati today. The law allows citizenship to be granted to Bangladeshi, Afghan and Pakistani immigrants, but not those who are Muslims. – EPA pic, December 19, 2019.

MALAYSIANS living in or intending to travel to India are advised to avoid protest hotspots and heed authorities’ instructions. This follows reports on demonstrations in northeastern states, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi and India-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
