KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — The Emergency Proclamation which is set to end tomorrow will instead be continued in Sarawak until February 2, 2022.

However, the proclamation will first be discussed in Parliament, per Clause 3 of Article 150 of the Federal Constitution. “Therefore, under Clause of Article 21 of the Sarawak State Constitution, the state legislature was supposed to have been dissolved on June 7, but Clause of Article 21 does not have any impact per paragraph 15 of the Emergency Ordinance 2021, which suspends the dissolution of the state legislature.
