Socso paid RM11 million to Covid-19 positive employees, deputy minister says

The Social Security Organisation has given more than RM3.5 million for the funeral arrangements of local workers who died of Covid-19, says Deputy Human Resources Minister Awang Hashim. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, September 26, 2021.

THE Social Security Organisation has paid over RM11.19 million in compensation to employees infected with Covid-19 at workplaces, involving 15,036 cases, as of September 18. Deputy Human Resources Minister Awang Hashim said of the total, more than RM10 million was paid to local workers involving 13,170 cases, while over RM1 million was paid to foreign workers comprising 1,866 cases.
