SINGAPURA: Kematian pertama berkaitan varian Omicron dilaporkan di negara ini, hari ini melibatkan seorang wanita berusia 92 tahun yang dijangkiti virus tersebut daripada salah seorang anggota keluarganya.
Lapor berita.mediacorp, wanita berkenaan belum divaksin dan tidak mempunyai sejarah perubatan yang diketahui, menurut Kementerian Kesihatan dalam kenyataan.“Berdasarkan siasatan yang dijalankan, doktor membuat kesimpulan kematian itu disebabkan oleh jangkitan Covid-19 iaitu varian Omicron. “Kami menyampaikan ucapan takziah sedalam-dalamnya kepada ahli keluarga mangsa. MOH dan kakitangan jagaan kesihatan akan terus melakukan apa sahaja yang termampu untuk menjaga semua pesakit,” tambah MOH.
Sebanyak 3,155 kes baharu Covid-19 dilaporkan di Singapura setakat semalam, yang terdiri daripada 2,794 jangkitan tempatan, manakala 361 kes lain adalah kes import.
