PETALING JAYA: Persidangan Parlimen perlu diadakan selewat-lewatnya 2 Ogos dan bukan September mahu pun Oktober seperti yang dinyatakan sebelum ini.
“Kita juga sedia maklum bahawa hari ini merupakan hari ke-183 atau enam bulan satu hari sejak berakhirnya sidang Parlimen terakhir, iaitu pada 17 Disember 2020. Ini bermaksud, kita berhadapan dengan pelanggaran Perkara 55 Perlembagaan Persekutuan. Walau bagaimanapun, sekiranya darurat berakhir pada 1 Ogos 2021, ini bermaksud Perkara 14 tidak lagi terpakai kerana darurat sudah tidak berkuat kuasa. Maka Perkara 55 Perlembagaan Persekutuan akan terpakai semula pada ketika itu,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan di sini hari ini.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Mustafa Billah Shah, menzahirkan pandangan supaya persidangan Parlimen diadakan secepat mungkin semasa mempengerusikan Perbincangan Khas Raja-Raja Melayu di Istana Negara baru-baru ini.
