Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Basri Sagoni said the Fire and Rescue Department's forensic team had discovered a bottle with petrol smell and traces of the fuel that had been thrown at one of the burnt vehicles.
"Traces of petrol were discovered in front of a black Perodua Myvi and red van. We believe it was the cause of the fire. "Five specimens at the site were collected and have been sent to the lab for analysis," he said when contacted on Thursday . In the Wednesday afternoon incident, several cars, including two Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Vios at the PPR Pantai Ria's parking lot, were burnt.He also urged those with information to contact Brickfields police hotline at 03-2297 9222, the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or any nearest police station.
