Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said it was expected that the venue would be made ready for this by Sunday evening (March 29).

The MAEPS reportedly will be housing patients who have Covid-19 symptoms but whose test results have not been confirmed yet. “We will use this model, where we would use a hall or indoor stadium for example, if we ever need more beds. Right now, we are seeing 150 to 200 new cases a day. But if the surge (of new cases) goes up to 1,000 cases a day, we have to look for (more) beds, ” he said.
