PETALING JAYA: Eleven senators aligned with the Opposition, handed over a memorandum to Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim urging him to go on with a special meeting that was scheduled from Tuesday (Aug 3) to Thursday (Aug 5).

Rais' representative, Dewan Negara secretary Muhammad Sujairi Abdullah, received the memorandum from the group, led by Mohd Yusmadi Mohd Yusoff, at the entrance of the Parliament

building, reportedThe Dewan Negara members expressed regret when the Dewan Negara sitting was adjourned on short notice and allegedly did not follow the proper rules of a Dewan Negara meeting.
