BANGKOK: The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) said on Tuesday (March 3) that it has ordered 437 schools to finish final examinations and to end the semester on Friday, as one of its measures to reduce risks of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) spread.

As for scheduled street fairs and public events, the BMA will consider whether to continue or canceled, on a case-by-case basis. If it cannot be cancelled, strict screening will be imposed at the events.

"For example, a thermal screening checkpoint is set up at the entrance of the Wat Arun fair, held last weekend," said the BMA.The BMA will be distributing 3 million face masks for adults and 500,000 face masks for children in stock to public members this month.Article type: free
