State police commissioner Comm Datuk Aidi Ismail said the incident involved an Independent candidate for the Krian seat on nomination day on Dec 6.
“The incident occured after the candidate submitted his nomination papers. When he exited the nomination centre, his supporters had crowded around him without following the SOP,” he said on Tuesday . Comm Aidi said campaigns for the election have so far been smooth with SOP complied by candidates, parties and their supporters.Although the police did not name the candidate, checks on the Election Commission website revealed that there is only one Independent candidate in the four-cornered fight for the Krian seat.is the sole Independent candidate contesting against Musa Dinggat representing Parti Sarawak Bersatu; Friday Belik and Danny Kuan .
