Sarawak not affected by new requirements of MM2H announced by federal govt, says minister

KUCHING, Aug 24 — Sarawak will not be affected by the new requirements and regulations of the MM2H programme as recently announced by the federal government, effective October 2021, Datuk Karim Rahman Hamzah said.

“Currently, among the Sarawak-MM2H criteria are placement of fixed deposits in local banks from RM150,000 for individuals to RM300,000 for couples,” he told reporters. He said applicants who are above 30 years of age can also be considered if they are accompanying their children to study in Sarawak or seeking long-term medical treatment.
