PETALING JAYA: Selangor’s Safuwan Baharudin has urged everyone not to wallow in self-pity over the effects brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Instead, the 28-year-old who is back in his home country Singapore, worst hit by the pandemic than Malaysia, wants footballers to have a positive outlook to the situation.

In Malaysia, the league is scheduled for a September return but some players are lamenting that the year 2020 is a lost cause as far as football is concerned.“The situation is hard but we should take it positively, ” said Safuwan, who also played for Police and Pahang in the Malaysian League. Selangor have collected five points in four matches, and the lanky midfielder believes that his team can still make an impact despite having only seven matches left in the Super League which have been shortened to one round instead of two.
