KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 — Former Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Tan Sri Sabbaruddin Chik was buried at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery 1 here this morning.
Sabbaruddin, 79, who was admitted to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre on Nov 28 after contracting Covid-19, died at 7.45pm yesterday. Zamri said the passing of Sabbaruddin was a big loss to the country as he was among individuals who produced many successful leaders. Sabbaruddin had served as Deputy Finance Minister from 1982 to 1987 and Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister from 1987 to 1999 before resigning over health reasons.
