State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun announced the updated standard operating procedure for Sabah under Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan on Friday , which sees relaxed rules for the tourism sector.
"Tourism operators, their staff and visitors must be fully inoculated and showed a Covid-19 low risk status in the MySejahtera app," he said in the daily statement to update Covid-19 developments on Friday.Hotels were previously only allowed to open for quarantine purposes and workers of essential services.
Masidi said this was on condition that guests and workers of hotels or homestays have been fully vaccinated. "Activities using facilities at these premises such as gyms, saunas, jacuzzis and seminar rooms are still prohibited," he added.
