KOTA KINABALU: Sabah police are investigating a video clip in which one of its men is seen hitting five people with a stick for violating the movement control order in Sabah’s east coast Kunak district. In the 27-second clip, which has been shared widely on social media, the policeman is seen beating the five teenagers, who were seated on the ground, in front of a mosque at a village in the district.State deputy police chief Mazli Mazlan said a probe is on-going although no official report had been lodged.

“I was made to understand that the policeman had instructed the five, seen loitering in the area to leave and go home before continuing with his patrol. “However, on returning to the same area later, the group was still there. Once again, the officer warned them to leave but this was met with laughter,” he said when contacted.“An internal investigation is at present going on,” he said.

Stubborn people deserved this type of punishment. Good job

No issues at all la... The one who created this issue is the person who are loitering around... Padan muka bak kataborang london

The cop may have been influenced by those video clips showing Indian cops in India whacking those who defy the lockdown.

Lebih baik dirotan dari menjadi punca tersebarnya cov19

Kadang2 mereka rela di pukul drp kena masuk penjara dan denda beribu

Libartad and Democrats will definitely defending those kids

Lebih baik dirotan....denda rm1000 duduk penjara keluar susah mau kerja kerna di cop Banduan...bagus tidakan PDRM tak mahu anak muda nnti tiada pekerjaan...dapat BPN bayar denda...sapa rugi

Siapa yg batu api nak suruh siasat... Patutnya dibekalkan anggota polis dgn kayu...

No excuse but extenuating circumstances for the cop under the current stressful and difficult times. And those five should be arrested and charged. Under the Child Act, take action against the parents too.

Rotan di sekolah pun ada..

Desperate time requires desperate measure

And the problem is So what? Sometimes bringing back old age punishment is the best! It will stick in their bloody heads till they die! Speaking from experience 😬

Dont see any issue here, what are you expecting, policeman bring 🍬 or 🍫 to warn person that still loitering? 😂

Lucky they only got hit by a stick and not shoot by a gun.

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽well done! If their parents are too lazy to discipline and control them and they are too stupid to understand the movement control order.... beat them! So tired of idiots!

khalidismath Bagi sekali... Dah suruh 16 hari..x dgr2.. Tu makan dia. Kalau bapak diq back up.. Rotan dgn bapak2 dia skali. Nk suruh anak duk kat rumah pun boleh failed.

Not a good example to other authorities

Is this permissible by law?
