Presiden SAPP Yong Teck Lee berkata bukan manfaat terbaik bagi kerajaan Sabah dan SDB menanggung risiko dengan memperuntukkan dana yang terhad untuk memastikan AirAsia bertahan.

Presiden SAPP Yong Teck Lee berkata, bank milik kerajaan negeri itu diberi mandat untuk menyediakan pembiayaan pembangunan untuk projek di Sabah dan bukan untuk pelan berisiko. “Kalau sebarang bantuan diperlukan untuk memastikan AirAsia dan Malaysia Airlines bertahan, ia terletak kepada kerajaan persekutuan untuk menggalas tugas itu,” katanya.“Berbanding dengan hutang RM66 bilion yang ditanggung AirAsia, bagaimana dana SDB yang sedikit, iaitu RM300 juta, akan membantu memastikan AirAsia bertahan?

“Industri penerbangan bukan sesuatu yang SDB harus tanggung risiko semasa pandemik Covid-19. Mana-mana bank dan ahli perniagaan tahu krisis apa yang dihadapi industri penerbangan. Seperti dilaporkan, AirAsia disaman oleh Malaysia Airports Holdings RM78.16 juta,” katanya.
