SHAH ALAM: Selangor police have rubbished claims of an online portal that Klang is the most unsafe city in South-East Asia.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said the claims were confusing, untrue and baseless.

"The source as well as information published in the article on the Numbeo site on the crime and safety indices also could not be verified. "The qualitative and quantitative research methods in the article as well as the number of respondents also do not portray or represent the community in Klang," he said in a statement Monday .

He said Selangor police statistics showed that between Jan 1 and Sept 30 this year, violent crimes have only exceeded the threshold value by 31.76 cases ."Overall, Klang remains below the threshold value for crimes at 163.68 cases ," he said. Comm Arjunaidi urged the public not to be alarmed or anxious over the article because it did not portray the proper facts or statistics on crime in Klang.

It’s definitely not most unsafe. Agree the adjective is not reflective.
