The items comprised liquor illegally sold at retail stores as well as VCDs and DVDs.

MPK president Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin said in a statement that 531 bottles of liquor and 1,240 pieces of VCDs and DVDs were seized from 15 premises between November last year and February this year.

The liquor seizure was under the Food Establishment Licensing Bylaw 3 2007 for carrying out activities without a licence, while the VCD and DVD seizure was under the Traders Bylaw 3 2007. The confiscated items, which were seized during several operations within the municipality, were destroyed at MPK’s Jalan Tepi Sungai store.
